Our Mission

The next regular meeting of the Action Committee will be on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.  As always at our June meeting, we will play Watershed Jeopardy with prizes for the top three winners. Test your knowledge of the watershed. Don't miss this exciting annual event. Meetings are held at 6pm at the Morris County Public Library located at 30 E. Hanover Avenue, Whippany. Meetings are open to the public.

The Inaugural Testimonial Fundraising Beefsteak Dinner was held on May 24th at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany, honoring Sal Iannaccone and Art Vespignani. The event could not have been a bigger success.  Over $10,000 was raised for projects for the coming year. The WRWAC would like to thank the Ad Journal sponsors, the individuals and businesses who donated, our keynote speaker, Dr. Lynn Siebert, the Venture Crew for the flag ceremony, the fundraiser committee (Hon. Alison Deeb, Len Cipkins, Art Catalusci and Daniel Bonilla, Esq.), and especially our Presenting Sponsors, JMF Properties and the SMCMUA, as well as all who attended.

Upcoming on July 12th will be our Bi-Annual Hackensack River Cruise hosted by the Hackensack Riverkeeper.  The boat leaves from Laurel Hill Park in Secaucus at 6pm.  Reservations are required.  The cost is $35/person and includes not only the cruise but also wine, cheese, crackers, soda and water. Contact Alison Deeb for additional info at 973-615-8136.

WRWAC’s mission is to preserve, protect and maintain the land and water resources of the Whippany River Watershed and sponsor outreach programs, educational and social events such as this one to educate and inform the public and private sectors about the significance of the river and the land around it. For more information, please contact the Whippany River Watershed Action Committee at 973-290-9338.
